A Naples to be remembered
A personalized guided tour around the ancient city of Neapolis, through its characteristic historic center, protected by UNESCO heritage. It has preserved its original Greek and Roman urban grid perfectly and hosts many more later monuments.
Strolling through the main streets called “Decumani” we will see and visit some of the most important monuments and churches, experiencing colours, markets and lively alleys. We can visit the Sansevero Chapel or the Cloister of Santa Chiara. We can walk to the Duomo, associated with San Gennaro and even see Caravaggio’s Seven Works of Mercy.

Monumental Naples
A guided tour from the New Castle, symbol of the city with its defensive towers, to the Egg Castle on the sea, seat of the ancient Partenope. We will admire the Teatro S. Carlo and the Galleria Umberto I, a fine example of Liberty Art. Walking through Piazza Trieste e Trento with its historic Caffè Gambrinus, you will be taken to Piazza del Plebiscito, between the Royal Palace and the Church of S. Francesco di Paola, through the old S.Lucia district, down to the sea front.

The National Archaeological Museum
A Museum so innovative and one of the first museums to be built in Europe. It hosts the most important collection of works of art and archaeological remains in Italy. During the tour you will be guided back through time and feel as if you were part of history. You will see artefacts, statues and frescoes found in the cities buried by Vesuvius’ eruption (Pompeii and Herculaneum) and in other sites in Campania. Take a look at the imposing statues from the Farnese Collection. Don’t miss the Secret Cabinet, the surprising erotic section.

The National Museum of Capodimonte
Ludoviguida takes you through the museum which used to be King Charles III of Bourbon’s hunting lodge and game park, the Royal Palace of Capodimonte. To the works of the great masters of painting, such as Botticelli, Raphael, Caravaggio and Masaccio. Or to admire the innovative works of contemporary art including Vesuvius Andy Warhol’s “Vesuvius”.

The Certosa di S. Martino
A unique National Museum, located in a silent Charterhouse on top of Vomero hill, the perfect spot to look over the city from above, enjoying its beautiful scenery. Experience the history and the city of Naples, through paintings, stuccoes, marbles and frescoes of Neapolitan school. Visit the Naval section and the “Presepe” (Nativity Scene) section, with the famous Presepe Cuciniello.

POMPEII and HERCULANEUM
Pompeii
A personal guided tour through the ancient roman city buried by Vesuvius in the 79 A.D. eruption, to know how the daily life of ancient Romans was. You will be able to visit the most fascinating places such as the Forum, the houses, temples, luxurious baths, the brothel called “Lupanare”, the two theatres and the imposing amphitheatre, and to discover the secrets of the Villa dei Misteri.

Herculaneum
Walk through the ancient streets in the Roman city founded by Hercules and destroyed by the famous eruption of Vesuvius in 79 A.D.. Discover every building and admire the uniqueness of its perfectly preserved 2000 years old houses and their exceptional wood fittings.
ROMAN VESUVIAN VILLAS
Oplontis
A special itinerary in the Roman villa of Poppea, Nero’s second wife, one of the richest and best preserved Roman villas of Campania. Inside the rooms you will discover well-preserved frescoes, mosaics and extensive gardens, to learn about ancient foods and flavors.
Stabia
Visit villa Arianna and villa S. Marco, between the breathtaking views of the Varano hill. Learn more about ancient “Idelness” (Otium), exploring thermal baths, rooms used for reading waching the views, admiring precious frescoes in bedrooms and ancient graffiti carved by the inhabitants.
Boscoreale
Between Villa Regina and the museum Antiquarium it will be interesting to learn about ancient production systems long the slopes of Vesuvius and about the daily life of the Romans. It will be possible to see the ancient wine-making methods and ancient foods, preserved despite of the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD.

CAPRI and SORRENTO
Capri
Experience with me the beauty of the Island of the “Faraglioni”, chosen by the emperor Tiberius as place of refuge and power. Walking through its streets, we will see the most admired landscapes, getting to know art and history. It is possible to have a boat tour long the coast until the characteristic Blue Grotto, or a wolking tour, through the towns of Capri and Anacapri with its splendid villa San Michele. With Ludoviguida you can also contemplate the island from above, on the Mont Solaro.

Sorrento
In the renowed town of Sorrento Peninsula you will admire unique landscapes, in a tour that combines culture, crafts and flavors. Along the narrow alleys of the historical centre, you can admire palaces, churches and the Cathedral of the city, seeing the seat Dominova, the only preserved specimen of assembly “seat” in Campania. Do not forget the wonderful Cloister of St. Francis and the views of the Villa Comunale.
For the most curious tourists, we can also reach the picturesque port of Marina Grande joining, if it is possible, a relaxing boat tour long the coast.

Visit the fragrant gardens of lemon, typical of the peninsula and try the typical Limoncello, without forgetting a stop at the tipical local craft: the inlaid wood.
CASERTA
Visit the Royal Palace of the Bourbons king and its mysterious gardens! The Royal Palace of Caserta is one of the most exceptional for size and beauty. Born in the eighteenth century to emulate the beautiful palace of Versailles. It will be interesting to be guided in the Royal Apartment, admiring frescoes, paintings and the finest silk linings of S. Leucio. The journey can continue in the park of the palace, designed by Luigi Vanvitelli, boasting a succession of fountains on 3 km route, up to the big waterfall and the English Garden.

THE FLEGREAN FIELDS
Explore the Flegrean (“burning”) Fields, rich of volcanic activities, to blend archaeology, nature and sea foods. You will be able to visit the city of Pozzuoli to see the Solfatara volcano, the ancient Hellenistic “Temple” of the Egyptian god Serapide or the imposing Flavian Amphitheatre, the third for dimension after the Colosseum.. Experience the underground Roman city of “Rione Terra” and its incredible temple inglobed into the church of S.Procolo. You will be able to visit the city of Baia, which gives the name to its Bay and is a place of important archaeological sites, such as the magnificent Roman baths and the National Archaeological Museum of Flegrean Fields, where the most important statues and underwater findings are kept. You will visit the archaeological city of Cuma, walking through its streets between Greek temples and see the famous “Antro della Sibilla” (the famous Sibilla witch’s cave), where Apollo’s priestess foretold future. It could be nice to walk around the volcanic lakes, as the Lago d’Averno, legendary entrance to the Afterlife, or the Lago Fusaro, with the splendid hunting reserve “Casina Vanvitelliana”, belonged to Ferdinand IV of Borbon, or the Lago Miseno, wich is close to the Roman cistern of the fleet: the Piscina Mirabilis.

AMALFI COAST
Follow me in a fascinating tour through the beauty of the Amalfi coast, joining sea and mountains, flavours and landscapes.
Amalfi is the wonderful maritime town that used to be one of Italy’s four independent, so called Marine Republics. We will walk through the narrow streets, visit the Cathedral of St. Andrea with the Arabic Cloister of Paradise, and we will wolk up to the amazing Paper Mill Museum.
In Positano you will admire the best landscape of the Amalfi Coast and you will walk down until the Church of S. Maria Assunta and the sea, ready for a boat tour long the coast.
You cannot lose Ravello, perched high and enchanting, where you will be taken into dreaming atmosphere of the ancient villas Rufolo and villa Cimbrone, belonged to ancient noble families that transformed their architectures in paradises.

PAESTUM and SALERNO
Paestum
Take a step back to the ancient Greek time! Discover with Ludoviguida one of the most interesting archaeological areas of Campania, with original Greek temples and know the history of one of the most Important colonies of our “Magna Grecia”, U.N.E.S.C.O World Heritage Site. We will stroll along the ancient roads, including the houses, the Forum and shops, until to reach the majestic Temple of Athena, Neptune and “Basilica”. Complete the experience with the visit of the Museum, to see the originals decorations of the Temples, and the famous “Tomb of diver”, the oldest example of Greek painting survived.

In Paestum you can have a local food experience, by tasting the excellent mozzarella and ice cream made from buffalo cow milk, even visiting a cheese factory of the countryside, observing the grazing buffalo cows.
Salerno
Follow Ludoviguida to discover the ancient Roman and Lombard city, now famous for the Christmas lights and its picturesque old town. We will stroll through the “Decumani” of the city up to the Cathedral of St. Matthew, with the crypt and museum. The tour can continue with the Garden La Minerva, symbol of the Medical School of Salerno and even reach the Lombard Castle.

Explore with me the charm of volcanic islands among archaeology, sea and litterature.
Ischia is the largest island of Campania and the first greek outpost in the West. The itinerary will be arranged according to your needs. You might choose a visit in Lacco Ameno, through the rooms of the Archaeological Museum of Villa Arbusto, where Nestor’s Cup is preserved, or choose the precious nature in the gardens of La Mortella. With a bus instead, you can cross the main towns of the island, down to the characteristic village of St. Angelo, until you reach the imposing and charming Aragonese Castle.
Ludoviguida can take you also visiting Procida, movie set and picturesque fishermen island. To get to know more about the ancient Casali (houses around a court), the Terra Murata hill and the islet of Vivara by sea.

CAPUA and BENEVENTO
Capua
Old and new blend together in an interesting guided tour through the modern city of Capua, built along a bend of the Volturno River.
We will admire churches and monuments, such as the beautiful towers wanted by Frederick II of Swabia and the Cathedral of S.Maria of the Assumption. The ‘walk can continue with a visit to Museo Provinciale Campano, set in the historical Palazzo Antignano, which hosts the most important world collection of Matres Matutae, the “Mothers of Capua,” statues of various sizes of women with baby in the womb, whose cult was widespread in the area back to Greek times.

Do not miss the medieval frescoes of the beautiful Lombard Abbazia longobarda di S. Angelo in Formis, renovated by the abbot Desiderius of Montecassino and built on the ruins of a temple of Diana.
S. Maria Capua Vetere
It is the ancient Capua, Etruscan and Roman city, chosen by Hannibal as a place of refuge. The guided tour will take you back to the time of Spartacus and ancient gladiators walking through Campano Amphitheater, second in size after the Colosseum, and the Museum of the Gladiators.
The tour can continue with the Archaeological Museum and the mysterious underground Mitreo, the most important place in Italy where the Oriental god Mithra was venerated.
